Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer and supplier invoices
  • Capture cashbooks and reconcile bank statements
  • Count, capture, and reconcile petty cash
  • Prepare debtors reconciliations and follow up on outstanding debt
  • Write off bad debts and small anomalies
  • Verify supplier balances and prepare supplier reconciliations
  • Capture daily, weekly, and monthly payments via online banking
  • Process interest journals for loan accounts, bonds, and instalment sale contracts
  • Process depreciation, salary, and taxation journals
  • Review the general ledger and reallocate misallocated transactions
  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Complete VAT calculations, prepare and submit VAT201 on SARS e-filing
  • Assist with VAT registration and documentation collation
  • Maintain and reconcile asset register
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly/bi-monthly
  • Address bookkeeping queries and manage commission calculations
  • Create and maintain loan schedules for clients
  • Assist with project costings and tracking expenses
  • Invoice management fees and prepare monthly payments for clients
  • Assist management in creating workflow systems
  • Maintain intercompany loan account reconciliations
  • Answer office calls and liaise with clients regarding queries and documentation
  • Organize and maintain the office filing system
  • Contact SARS regarding VAT queries and assist with ad-hoc financial reports

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Certification in Xero (Essential)
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping/Financial certification (Diploma or Degree)
  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
