Human Capital Project Specialist at Cape Peninsula University of Technology Job Purpose The purpose of this post is to support the department to fulfil its academic objectives which include teaching, research and innovation, curriculum development, and community engagement. The successful candidate will teach in the Nursing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP) Context This post is in line with the New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP), which is part of the Staffing South Africa's Universities Framework (SSAUF) – a national response to challenges in higher education. The SSAUF intends to identify and nurture academic talent early in the academic development trajectory. Appointment will align with staff equity targets, preferring black and/or women South African citizens. Eligibility criteria include: interest in academia, age 40 or younger, ≥70% pass mark of Master’s degree, evidence of eligibility for doctoral study, and commitment to a 6‑year placement. Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience Master’s degree in nursing sciences or equivalent with ≥70% pass. Qualification in nursing education. Proof of registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a professional nurse and midwife. Proof of registration with SANC as a nurse educator. Qualification in a nursing clinical specialization is advantageous. Prepared to register for a Doctoral degree. Recommendation At least one year of lecturing experience and/or 4 years of clinical teaching experience in nursing after SANC registration. Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities Participate in all components of the nGAP development programme during the first six years. Teach in the nursing programmes offered by the department. Conduct skill laboratory activities and assessments in line with SANC requirements. Develop curriculum and oversee theoretical and clinical teaching and assessments. Implement and monitor academic and clinical records and progress of students according to SANC regulations. Academic administration from admissions to graduation. Adhere to quality assurance principles in undergraduate, postgraduate programmes and short courses. Develop student learner nurses within a work-integrated and mobile learning situation. Assist in departmental educational activities to enhance quality. Participate in community development projects and portfolios. Engage in professional development sessions and research projects.
