Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Channel Business Manager to lead our expansion efforts in Africa (South Africa) within the rapidly growing renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the renewable energy landscape in South Africa, strong business acumen, and a proven track record in business development. You will identify new business opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and drive the growth of Sungrow’s renewable energy portfolio in South Africa. Location: South Africa (Hybrid/Remote with local travel) Industry: Renewable Energy (Solar PV, BESS, Utility-Scale Projects) Employment Type: Full-time Responsibilities Market Strategy & Growth Conduct comprehensive market research to identify opportunities for renewable energy projects in South Africa and Beyond, Southern Africa. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform business strategies. Business Development & Sales Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve sales targets and expand the company’s footprint in South Africa and Beyond, Southern Africa. Identify and engage with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders in the renewable energy sector. Lead negotiations and close deals with government bodies, private sector entities, and international organizations. Partnerships & Networking Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and industry associations. Establish strategic partnerships with local and international organizations to enhance project execution and scalability. Project Management Collaborate with the project management team to ensure successful execution of renewable energy projects from inception to completion. Monitor project progress, ensuring that all milestones are met within the agreed timelines and budget. Regulatory Compliance & Advocacy Stay abreast of regulatory developments in Nigeria’s energy sector and ensure that all projects comply with local laws and regulations. Advocate for favorable policies and incentives to promote the growth of renewable energy in South Africa and beyond, Southern Africa. Responsibilities (Summarized) Lead preparation of bids for Sungrow customers in Africa for PV and BESS projects, offering service contracts such as O&M contracts, SLAs, LTSAs and MSAs. Market Analysis: Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential customers, market trends, and competitor activities. This includes staying updated on industry news, regulations, and policies that may impact the Renewable Energy industry. Business Strategy: Developing and implementing business strategies to promote the growth of the Renewable Energy business. This involves identifying new market opportunities, assessing potential risks, and creating plans to expand the company's Renewable Energy offerings. Lead Generation: Generating leads and building a strong pipeline of prospective clients. This includes networking, attending industry events, cold calling, and utilizing digital marketing strategies to attract new customers. Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. This involves understanding their needs, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring client satisfaction with the company's Renewable Energy products or services. Sales and Negotiation: Collaborating with the sales team to close deals and achieve sales targets. This includes preparing and presenting proposals, conducting negotiations, and addressing any concerns or objections raised by potential clients. Coordinate with Sales team non-standard terms within the contracts Review Service prices with Service Management team and create standard price offers for bids. Coordinate with legal, service and O&M departments on any special requirements for service contracts for PV and BESS. To accomplish the annual sales target by coaching, planning, implementing and developing sales tasks. Forecast, analyze and set sales strategies to develop expected sales volume and profit to follow the company policy. Maintain sales volume to existing and new client by provide the best products, price and solutions. Build and maintain the good relationship between company and existing/new client. Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales report to senior management Assist where and when needed. Qualifications Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Renewable Energy industry, renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and emerging trends. Familiarity with Renewable Energy project development, regulatory frameworks is crucial. Experience: Prior experience in business development, sales, or marketing roles in the Renewable Energy industry or related sectors. Experience in successfully driving business growth, generating leads, and closing deals is highly valued. Sales and Negotiation Skills: Strong sales and negotiation abilities to effectively engage with clients, build relationships, and close business deals. Proficiency in consultative selling techniques, contract negotiation, and customer relationship management systems is important. Minimum Skills Excellent to great knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet and e-mail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 5 years’ experience in Sales/Business Development Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical/Electric power system/automation/power electronics/communication Engineering and other related majors. Other relevant / related Electrical solar renewable certification also will be considered Valid Driver’s License Technical background on Renewable Energy Systems In depth knowledge of Residential, Commercial/Industrial, Utility Scale Inverter and Energy Storage Systems.
