Stores Manager - Steelpoort (Pump & Abrasion Technologies) To take full responsibility of the Steelpoort and consignment warehouses, including strict stock level management, accuracy, discipline of stock movement, housekeeping, equipment condition, production planning, MRP, invoicing and POD updates. Duties & Responsibilities The Stores manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all staff and warehouse activities, adhering to policies and procedures, implementing new policies, and ensuring all employees are trained. Implement operational policies and procedures. Oversee security operations. Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment and the safety of staff. Motivate and discipline staff. Maintain documentation and accurate records of warehouse activities. Use warehouse space to achieve peak efficiency. Oversee basic operations such as receiving, warehousing, distribution, picking, packing, issuing, invoicing, PODs, and product maintenance. Take charge of stock control and accuracy as well as warehouse organization. Regularly oversee updating of the data storage system. Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report, etc). Create and affix warehouse labels, bins, assign fixed bin locations, update ERP for bins, update floor plan, track bin locations and floor plan, and ensure QR codes are used for all items. Ensure incoming stock is labeled correctly (QR Codes) for storage – oversee the process. Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping regulation requirements. Plan work rotas, assign tasks, and appraise results. Oversee and implement MRP for warehouse stock holding and sub‑jobs. Report on MRP. Improve staff performance through coaching, counselling, and discipline. Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts, annual counts, cycle counts, and reconciling with data storage systems. Handle any additional reasonable requests or procedures implemented by management. Skills & Requirements Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices. Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives. Hands‑on experience with warehouse management software and databases. Ability to manage staff. Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls. Valid driver’s licence. Ability to operate forklift effectively. Proficient computer skills. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Outstanding leadership, organisational, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills. Strong people skills.
