We are recruiting for a Storage and Server Engineer role on a 24-months contract. The incumbent will be responsible for providing expert-level installation configuration support and maintenance services for Brocade Fibre Channel switches ensuring a highly available and secure SAN fabric for mission-critical applications. The engineer will play a pivotal role in maintaining performance zoning and fabric health in the storage environment. Key Responsibilities Install configure and maintain Brocade G620 Fibre Channel switches (or equivalent). Perform SAN zoning and implement zoning best practices across multiple environments. Monitor switch performance port health throughput and latency. Conduct firmware upgrades and patching with zero / minimal downtime in line with the organisations change management protocols. Troubleshoot SAN connectivity issues and collaborate with storage and server teams to resolve bottlenecks or outages. Provide documentation for switch configurations change logs and zoning maps. Ensure high availability and optimal performance of the Fibre Channel fabric. Implement and enforce SAN security measures including WWN authentication and port lockdowns. Schedule and execute preventative maintenance routines. Assist with integration of new storage devices into the existing SAN fabric. Maintain switch compatibility across operating systems (Windows Linux VMware). Work closely with NetApp SAN Engineers and Server Admins to ensure seamless data flow. Minimum Qualifications and Certifications National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology Computer Systems or related field. Brocade Certified Network Engineer (BCNE) Required. Additional SAN‑related or Fibre Channel certifications Advantageous. ITIL Foundation Advantageous. Experience Requirements Minimum 35 years of hands‑on experience supporting Brocade switches in an enterprise SAN environment. Experience with Brocade G620 models or similar hardware. Strong understanding of Fibre Channel protocols WWNs fabric zoning and multipathing. Prior experience working in heterogeneous environments (Windows Server VMware Linux). Familiarity with data backup disaster recovery and SAN replication concepts.
