Responsibilities As a Labor and Employment Counsel, you will be responsible for advising and representing Baker Hughes, on a wide range of issues related to workplace law, including compliance, litigation, and strategic planning. As a Labor and Employment Counsel, you will be responsible for: Managing labor and employment litigations, this includes understanding of employment laws, conducting thorough investigations and exploring all available resolution options. Supporting internal human resources teams in all employment legal related matters and providing needed guidance. Specializing in laws & regulations/policies & practices as it pertains to employees, including in the areas of benefits, compensation and human rights. Providing guidance and counsel in union negotiations and employee relations matters. Advising Functional managers or other Functions regarding approaches, processes and procedures in the own field. Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems Leading as a project leader of medium sized projects or is a major contributor to bigger projects. Qualifications Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in legal. Have valid admission to local legal bar exam Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and employment for SSA Have prior experience in house or in a law firm Ability to influence senior stakeholders. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Have excellent project management skills.
