Position Overview We are looking for a skilled and motivated CAD Technician with a strong background in electrical drafting to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in CAD and BIM environments, with a focus on electrical systems. Key Responsibilities Prepare and modify detailed technical drawings and schematics for electrical systems using CAD and BIM software. Collaborate with engineers and design teams to ensure accurate representation of electrical designs. Produce high-quality electrical drafts and blueprints for various projects, adhering to relevant standards and regulations. Review and revise drafts based on feedback from senior team members, engineers, and clients. Ensure that all documentation is up to date and accurately reflects design modifications. Assist with creating and maintaining project documentation, including wiring diagrams, layouts, and installation details. Work closely with other team members to meet project deadlines and ensure the successful completion of tasks. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work produced. Qualifications At least 2 years of experience as a CAD Technician, with a strong focus on electrical drafting. Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and BIM systems. A background in electrical drafting with knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring, and system layouts. A relevant qualification or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, CAD Technology, or a related field is preferred. Preferred Skills Strong drafting skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate technical drawings. In-depth knowledge of CAD and BIM software, particularly in the context of electrical design. Experience working on a variety of electrical systems, including commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines. Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing design challenges.
