Position Details Location: Mortimer Smelter Number of Positions: 1 Job Title: Production Engineer Seniority Level: Associate Employment Type: Full-time Industry: Mining Job Description The Production Engineer will lead and support a range of engineering activities within their section, ensuring safety, performance, compliance, and people management in line with Valterra Platinum standards. Responsibilities Safety: Create a safety culture, apply safety & health principles, and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm. Performance and Delivery: Apply the Asset Management Framework, Valterra Technical Standards, and associated Critical Controls; develop and manage budgets and Asset Management Plans (AMPs); manage major shutdowns, replacements, and projects; ensure legal compliance; maintain infrastructure sustainably; oversee logistics of machinery; manage construction, installation, commissioning, repairs and maintenance; supervise and manage staff; compile strategies and regular performance reports. People & Teams: Implement a purpose-driven culture aligned with company values; ensure the team is qualified, trained, and skilled; drive continuous skills development; ensure proper resourcing and staffing; manage workforce planning. Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements; verify technical standards and procedures within the section. Role Level Band 6 level, reporting to the Section Engineering Manager. Qualifications Engineering related degree – BSC Engineering / Diploma Government Certificate of Competency Experience 5 years of post‑engineering qualification experience, of which 3 years in an appointed position (relevant to the role) will be advantageous.
