Artisan: Millwright BevCo Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa Job Purpose Ensure plant availability for production by carrying out preventative maintenance, attending to breakdowns and malfunctions, and communicating effectively with maintenance manager, production management and quality control personnel. Key Accountabilities and Outputs Mechanical Maintenance Repair mechanical breakdowns on production line equipment. Assess and replace suspect components to prevent future stoppages. Attend to general electrical and mechanical problems in production area, warehouse, office block and outside premises. Carry out preventative maintenance program: daily checks, maintenance and lubrication on KHS, Vermercati, Cordial lines, sugar/syrup room, compressed air supply according to weekly maintenance schedule. Control cooling systems: monitor compressor performance, oil levels, condensers and glycol supply. Manage municipal water supply: monitor filtration systems and water pumps/valves. Maintain compressed air supply: monitor compressor performance and record operating temperatures, running hours. Assist with daily start‑up and shut‑down of essential production machinery, pre‑production trial run. Assist with line size changes. Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programme. Perform emergency breakdown repairs on dayshift and nightshift. Inform maintenance manager of any equipment abuse. Control maintenance store and company tools. Electrical Maintenance Apply electrical theory to test and modify operational electrical machinery/control equipment. Assemble and test motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generators, solenoids and other equipment. Diagnose electrical/mechanical malfunctions or failures. Develop wiring diagrams for system modifications or expansions. Assist with general plant maintenance and daily running of machinery. Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, electronic and cooling system maintenance on all machinery, including high speed machinery and PLC. Assist with breakdowns and attend call‑outs. Grease machinery as per maintenance schedule. Operational Support Provide specialist support during operations, including standby and day shift support. Act as functional expert in problem‑solving with the Process Artisan. Offer guidance and advice to shift‑based teams on mechanical equipment and fault‑finding. Provide coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer to shift‑based teams. Execute planned maintenance work during designated windows and assist team members. Complete administration and SAP tasks related to planned maintenance. Participate in maintenance post‑mortems to provide feedback and insights. Adherence to Quality, Food Safety, Health, Safety and Environmental Standards Strictly adhere to Quality, Food, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards. Enforce all food safety and health regulations at all times. Maintain exceptional personal hygiene as per code of conduct. Raise awareness of contamination control and implement measures. Prevent health and safety hazards and follow incident reporting procedures. Stay updated with relevant policies and enforce compliance. Attend and enforce training in Quality, Food Safety, Health and Safety. Maintain high levels of cleanliness and order within the work environment. Qualifications and Experience Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4. Relevant Trade Test (Essential). Up to 3 years’ experience in operational execution, maintenance, FMCG, bottling equipment.
