Senior Artisan Electrician – BevCo – Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa BevCo Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa Job Purpose To ensure compliance with all legal statutory requirements within the Engineering Department (Production line and Utilities), effective actioning of all engineering breakdowns and maintenance/repair, ensure compliance with safety standards and guidelines, drive a safety culture, and maintain the control and automation function. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and may be required to work on standby or shift (where necessary). Key Accountabilities & Outputs Responsible for electrical and automation related downtime & trends Responsible for PLC and software configurations, breakdowns and projects Responsible for development of apprentices, electricians and shift artisans (where necessary) Assist Shift artisans and electricians with escalated breakdowns on all lines; present throughout the breakdown until it is solved Adhoc stand‑in for shift process artisans on shift (where required) Conduct audits on areas of responsibility for lines and utilities, and report in Level 2 morning meetings Report on PIMS and POMS/​breakdowns to morning meetings and communication books Take full accountability for electrical and automation near‑miss close outs Assist with line breakdowns where required Be involved in problem‑solving sessions using 5‑why, RCA/FFA principles Assist Shift Supervisors/Team Leaders, and artisans with line logic control Assist and aid standby personnel on callouts Reference the complete spare list and liaise with the maintenance storeman so spares can be found after hours and in stores Complete running and non‑running schedules during maintenance with quality feedback Participate in maintenance package reviews Assist with development of cleaning schedule Conduct isolation and lock‑out audits of line equipment prior to maintenance Support maintenance activities on maintenance days Assist with start‑up and commissioning of machines after maintenance Provide direct support to day‑shift crews if requested Support the NPD agenda and form part of the project teams by unit; assist with PAT (performance acceptance criteria) for new technology Assist with operator coaching on NPD introduction and new technology introduction Health, Safety, Food and Environmental Standards Adhere to all Food Safety Policies and PRPs and enforce all food safety requirements at all times Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and PRPs and enforce all Health and Safety requirements at all times Visitor and Contractor Policy – ensure visitors or contractors entering the facility are signed in, escorted and wear PPE, are aware of hygiene policies and do not smoke, eat or drink inside the facility Code of Practice – maintain high levels of personal hygiene in accordance with the code of conduct Handwashing Procedure – ensure staff clean and sanitize hands efficiently before handling the product Physical Contamination Control Policy and Procedure – be aware of potential physical product contamination and controls to prevent physical contamination Safety, Health and Environment Policy – take reasonable measures to ensure health and safety hazards do not occur; if an accident occurs, staff are aware of the reporting procedure First Aid Policy – staff are aware of the site first‑aider and are trained to report injuries and illness to supervisors or first‑aiders Maintain high level of housekeeping within the work environment General Ensure housekeeping is performed and that all products and activities are stored and executed within demarcated areas according to the housekeeping policy (green, red and yellow areas) Be conversant with relevant business information, policies, processes and procedures Maintain expected performance standards Assist with work that may not be a direct part of the job description from time to time, as encouraged by the company Qualifications and Experience Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4 (Essential) Relevant trade test qualification (Electrical/Millwright/Instrument Mechanician) Up to 3 years’ experience (Operational Execution) Maintenance;
