About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join their installation and maintenance team serving the East London area. This role is essential for installing, configuring, and repairing telecommunications equipment and systems for businesses and residential clients. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable connectivity and optimal performance of voice and data networks. The successful candidate will be adept at working with various telecommunications technologies, possess strong diagnostic skills, and demonstrate excellent customer service while working in the field across the Eastern Cape.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and maintain voice and data telecommunications systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair network connectivity issues, identifying and resolving faults.
- Perform upgrades and modifications to existing telecommunication infrastructure.
- Connect and configure routers, switches, modems, and other networking devices.
- Ensure all installations adhere to industry standards and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or in a related network installation role.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications principles, including copper and fiber optics.
- Proficiency with testing equipment for signal analysis and fault detection.
- Experience with various voice and data cabling standards.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to client sites are required.
