Our client is looking for a motivated Field Service Technician to join their fully remote team, providing on-site support for telecommunications installations and maintenance across the East London area. This role involves travelling to customer sites to install, repair, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including broadband internet, voice services, and network hardware. You will be the face of the company at customer locations, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for an independent and technically adept individual who enjoys hands-on work and problem-solving in diverse settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test customer premise equipment (CPE) for internet and voice services.
- Diagnose and repair faults in telecommunications lines and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network infrastructure components.
- Ensure all installations meet company standards and customer requirements.
- Provide clear explanations and basic training to customers on service usage.
- Document all service activities, including work performed and parts used, using a mobile application.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role.
- Hands-on experience with telecommunications equipment (modems, routers, VoIP phones).
- Understanding of broadband technologies (DSL, Cable, Fiber) and networking principles.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for on-site visits.
