OPERATIONS DATA AND TAX LEAD Location : Claremont, Cape Town Finance and Tax Specialist in Asset Management / Wealth Management with Offshore exp, and IT / Data automation skills The primary objectives are to : Implement a data testing and monitoring programme Detect, prevent, and remediate operational and reporting errors. Drive data clean-up and fixes. Recommend system and process changes to ensure data accuracy at source. Take ownership of accurate and timely tax-related filings across various regimes. REPORTING TO : Managing Director ABOUT THE GROUP The Group is an integrated wealth and investment manager; offering advice, wealth management, asset management, investment platforms (LISP and private clients), fund management, fiduciary and global treasury capabilities. QUALIFICATIONS Accounting Bcom+ HDip Tax an advantageEXPERIENCE + COMPETENCIES Knowledge of financial products and processes ie LISP products discretionary investments, retirement annuities, living annuities, preservation funds, tax free savings, endowment policies Understanding of financial investments Strong understanding of accounting and tax. Ability to work with and understand data; SQL and excel skills Analytical, logical Understanding of the testing process ie how to devise expected results and test for and problem-solve the anomalies Highly numerate and structured thinker Self-motivated with a sense of ownership Able to engage effectively across business, tax, and technology teamsProduct and client taxAssists the operation and tax specialist to ensure accurate client tax reporting (includes IT3 reporting, withholding taxes, PAYE ) and life company five funds tax.PWP - Qualified Intermediary IRS filings.Manage compliance with IRS QI obligations, including : Data compilation and submission in collaboration with the Guernsey officeFATCA and CRS reporting Develop a data testing programme to identify issues with the FATCA / CRS data. Working with the operations, drive remediation of this data Compile, analyse and submit the FATCA / CRS filings to SARS and to Guernsey for PWP (IGOR)Operational AreasWorks with the following operational areas to implement and drive continual data testing and cleaning initiatives and to drive data quality discipline in the organisationLISP platform (PAS)PWP offshore shares and funds platformPrivate client platforms (PCS) #J-18808-Ljbffr
