Production Supervisor - Ormonde, Gauteng Full job description The Production Supervisor is required to observe and direct the execution of the production process. The Production Supervisor is required to meet the production requirements (throughput, quality, and waste), whilst adhering to Health and Safety standards as well as ensuring good housekeeping is maintained. The Production Supervisor will be required to lead his / her team : most importantly, to ensure safe working of the team, to ensure manufactured goods meet the quality requirements, first to ensure that the shift plan is completed, secondly that the daily throughput requirements are met, a detailed report will be required as explanation if either of these two are not met. to ensure good production flow, considering the various stages, from overtime forms, raw materials, tooling, manufacturing, palletization, baling of waste, etc. to ensure discipline is maintained by actioning misconduct and ensuring the relevant paperwork is completed and submitted to HR, to ensure that the machines operate at maximum efficiency by monitoring throughput speeds, to ensure that Abaca data capturing was done correctly by completing the work order analysis, to ensure that the team carries out all relevant duties, to ensure all policies and procedures are followed by the team, to ensure upkeep of machines, to ensure that Abaca data capturing was done correctly by completing the work order analysis, to ensure that the team carries out all relevant duties, to ensure all policies and procedures are followed by the team, to ensure upkeep of machines, Constantly keep checking quality of product to meet requirements. First to ensure that the production line-up is followed as provided by the Production Planner, secondly that the daily throughput requirements are met. Monitor the sequential job preparation by operators to reduce setup time. Ensure all policies and procedures are followed by the team. Constantly work to minimize waste, setup time and to maximize efficiency / performance. Identify and investigate issues inline and problem-solve these issues. Effectively communicate issues and deviations to your manager. Meet targets set out by the business. Form part of the solution by providing insights on why targets are not being met. Implement solutions as required. Collaborate with quality control, ink supplier, services, and other staff for effective production of work. Excellent time management skills and ensure to adhere to times stipulated on the Employee contract. Ensure you are neat and tidy and conduct yourself in a professional manner with all stakeholders. Adhere to all policies set out by the company and follow all processes and procedures of the company. Must have excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and conflict-management skills. Ensure product meets all required standards. Ensure efficient use of equipment. Ensure record keeping of all key documents and ensure paper trail is always maintained. Ensure the working area is neat, tidy, and safe at all times. Ensure time and attendance is accounted for and that action is taken for poor time and attendance. If necessary, you will be requested to work overtime to meet customer orders Must have at least 2-3 years experience within packaging environment The Production Supervisor must be able to communicate effectively and provide feedback / reports on tasks carried out.
