Manufacturing & Process Plant Specialist We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Application Engineer to join our dynamic team at Baker Baynes. In this strategic and hands‑on role, you will enable our clients to adopt and optimize Autodesk Design and Manufacturing technologies, driving digital transformation across multiple industries. You will deliver high‑impact technical consulting, solution implementation, and customer enablement services, with a focus on manufacturing, process, energy, and mining sectors. This position requires a deep understanding of Autodesk Vault, Inventor, AutoCAD, and simulation tools such as Nastran In‑CAD, as well as the ability to translate complex engineering workflows into practical, scalable solutions. You will work closely with clients to understand their business challenges, design tailored solutions, and ensure successful deployment and adoption of Autodesk technologies. Beyond technical delivery, you will contribute to service development, support pre‑sales engagements, and create educational content to empower both customers and internal teams. Strong communication skills, project management ability, and a passion for innovation are essential. Minimum Qualifications & Experience BEng / BTech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a technical engineering or consulting role. Proven experience in the Mechanical Industry . Strong working knowledge of: Autodesk Vault (Data Management & Implementation) FEA tools – Nastran In‑CAD or equivalent (advantageous) AutoCAD (core) AutoCAD Electrical and Plant 3D (advantageous) Autodesk Fusion Operations and Autodesk PLM (advantageous) Key Responsibilities As a Senior Technical Application Engineer, you will: Lead technical discovery and solution scoping sessions. Implement Autodesk Vault and Inventor solutions, including data migration and automation. Deliver tailored product demonstrations and workflow presentations. Provide onboarding and technical support aligned with SLA standards. Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients. Create technical content for marketing and client education. Collaborate with sales on pre‑ and post‑sales engagements. Manage service delivery, documentation, and project close‑out. Achieve monthly service delivery targets. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, client‑facing communication, and proactive learning to support Baker Baynes’ mission of enabling digital transformation through Autodesk technologies. Personal Attributes Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Self‑driven, proactive, and team‑oriented. Passionate about technology and continuous learning. Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Additional Requirements Own vehicle essential. Willingness to travel within South Africa for client engagements and training.
