Unifi – Data Analyst Unifi is redefining credit in Africa with simple, fast personal loans delivered through online, mobile and branch channels. We serve thousands of clients across Zambia, Kenya, Uganda and South Africa. Role Purpose The Data Analyst will analyze complex data sets and deliver actionable insights that drive data‑informed decisions, designing and implementing visualizations using GCP tools such as Looker and BigQuery. The role collaborates with stakeholders to optimize processes, enhance efficiency and support business growth across Africa. Responsibilities Collect, extract and compile data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Clean and transform raw data into structured datasets for analysis. Identify and resolve data quality issues, inconsistencies and anomalies. Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns and relationships. Apply statistical techniques and data visualization methods to interpret and present findings. Develop visualizations, dashboards and reports using Google Looker to communicate insights. Maintain standardized reporting templates and data visualization tools. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support data‑driven decision‑making processes. Provide analytical support for business initiatives, including market analysis, customer segmentation and performance tracking. Identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency and revenue optimisation. Ensure compliance with data governance policies, data protection regulations and security protocols. Maintain data dictionaries and documentation. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies in data analysis. Participate in training programs, workshops and professional development opportunities. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role. Proficient in GCP, Google BigQuery, SQL, Python and data visualization tools such as Looker. Strong analytical, problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Experience handling and analysing large datasets efficiently. Skilled in statistical analysis, data modelling and deriving actionable insights. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data manipulation tools. Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices. Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
