Clinical/Counselling Psychologist – Adult Mental Health Psychology NHS Highland NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. We are looking for applicants with experience of working in a community adult mental health environment and of providing clinical supervision. As well as qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologists, we welcome applications from current Trainees who are due to complete their training this year. Applications are welcomed from those who want to work flexibly, with a hybrid model of remote and on‑site working requirements. Key Responsibilities Triaging and assessing people referred to the CMHT, for whom a psychological intervention is indicated. Delivering psychological interventions individually and in groups, in‑person and online, using therapies such as EMDR, ACT, CFT, CBT, Schema Therapy and CPT. Providing regular input to CMHT meetings, consulting MDTs and offering training and supervision for other professionals. Participating in specialist supervision groups and monthly departmental CPD meetings. Providing consultation and support within the multidisciplinary teams and contributing to research, teaching and supervision of trainees. Qualifications Qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or trainee due to complete training this year. Experience working in a community adult mental health environment. Experience in clinical supervision and provision of psychological therapies. Interest in trauma work, with support for developing competency. Within the department there are a variety of therapeutic orientations. The Psychology Service has strong working links with the West of Scotland Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Masters training programmes, including opportunities for teaching, supervision of trainees, and research. Our team is based at New Craigs Hospital in Inverness, which offers amenities including restaurants, bars, music venues, theatres, cinema, history, culture and sports. The Highlands of Scotland is the largest and most sparsely populated health board in Scotland covering 41% of the country’s landmass.
