Senior Network Engineer/Business Unit Leader Location: Greater Cape Town Area (Hybrid / Remote / Onsite as required) Ello Technology is redefining Managed IT Services through innovation, reliability, and a people‑first culture. We’re now seeking a Business Unit Leader – Networking to head up our S2 Department, responsible for all networking, firewall, WiFi, and internet solutions across our client base. What You’ll Do Lead the Networking Unit (S2) – managing engineers, prioritizing workloads, and ensuring SLA‑driven delivery. Design, implement, and optimise complex network infrastructures (LAN/WAN, WiFi, Firewalls, Internet). Oversee client environments for uptime, redundancy, performance, and security – targeting 99.9%+ availability. Own client relationships for all networking‑related services – including onsite visits, reviews, and technical consultations. Collaborate cross‑functionally with the Server, Cloud, and Support Units to ensure seamless IT delivery. Enforce compliance and best practices in cybersecurity, documentation, and change management. Drive performance and accountability through reporting, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor and develop your team, ensuring professional growth and technical excellence. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Network Engineering, with proven leadership or team management exposure. Deep technical understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and firewall technologies. Proficiency with MikroTik, FortiGate, Cisco, and Ubiquiti network environments. Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., LibreNMS, FortiCloud, UniFi Controller). Relevant certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, FortiGate Administrator, CompTIA Network+/Security+) are a strong plus. Excellent communication, client engagement, and problem‑solving skills. Must reside in the Greater Cape Town Area, with a valid driver’s licence and own vehicle (onsite client visits required). Lead your own Business Unit within a decentralised, performance‑driven organisation. Work directly with leadership to shape strategy, process, and client outcomes.
