My client based near Pietermaritzburg is currently looking for a suitably qualified person for the position of a Cane Payments Supervisor within the Finance department. The position reports to the Procure to Pay Manager.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for efficiently and accurately managing and administering Cane Payments in accordance with company / SASA policies and procedures.

Key Performance Areas:
• Manage and ensure that all relevant inputs (such as pricing and system related parameters) are completed and reviewed.
• Ensure that grower debt to company is recovered promptly in terms of molasses sales, advances to growers, etc.
• Manage and ensure that all the necessary grower banking details are captured, verified and released.
• Ensure cane payment upload run errors / abnormalities are actioned accordingly.
• Process final cane payment run monthly .
• Process the annual cane payments archive.
• Attend to grower queries regarding payments, as well as payment queries from Tax authorities, banks and other third parties.
• Liaise with Head Office SASA resource with regards to SASA / Cane Payment matters.
• Liaise with IT service providers with regards to program related issues and update stakeholders on programme enhancements
• Ensure stakeholders understand and comply with company policy and procedure requirements.
• Release payments from hold and approve payments, instructions, deductions and sessions
• Perform final payment run and reconcile cane payments control, bank accounts and various related GL accounts (RV accrual,
L&M scheme, mentorship scheme and transport subsidy).
• Create and print general ledger journals for posting.
• Ensure cane growers are paid accurately and on time.
• Provide BBBEE statistics as required.
• Provide cane payment data to Agric Managers for various schemes that are in place for growers.
• Monitor growers lease and management schemes as well as all other cane development schemes, ensuring that recoveries are
made timeously through cane payments and other financial requirements of the schemes are met i.e. lease charges and interest
are calculated and processed accurately and timeously.
• Provide technical support to the Cane Payments Administrator.
• Management of two Sites with a requirement to be physically present 50% of the time at each site.

Minimum Requirements:
• Diploma in Finance/Accounting or BCom /equivalent qualification.
• 2+ years relevant experience.
• Driver’s licence and ability to frequently travel between Eston and Noodsberg.
• Agriculture experience advantageous.
• Advanced computer literacy skills (Advanced Excel).
• Ability to work in pressured and deadline-driven operating environment.
• Detailed-orientated, with strong analytical ability.
