We're Hiring : Sales Engineer – Piping, Valves and Instrumentation Location : Johannesburg, South Africa Job Type : Full-Time Experience : 5–10 years in field sales (Mechanical / Instrumentation) Qualification : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Instrumentation Engineering or related field About Petropipe At Petropipe, We believe in selling solutions, not just products. As part of our team, you'll play a key role in understanding our clients' needs, designing the right mix of products and services, and delivering sustainable results that make a real impact Role Overview We're looking for a Sales Engineer – Piping & Valves to join our team. You'll combine technical expertise with sales skills to grow revenue, develop new business, and build lasting relationships with customers in industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Mining, and Power Generation. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular customer visits to understand process control needs and build strong relationships Deliver engaging technical presentations and product demonstrations Prepare detailed technical & commercial proposals; negotiate pricing and contract terms Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets Monitor market trends and identify growth opportunities Manage existing accounts and drive upselling / cross-selling Collaborate with internal engineering, product management, and inside sales teams Follow up on proposals and convert them to sales orders Provide after-sales support and technical assistance Maintain accurate records in the CRM and report sales performance regularly What We're Looking For A seasoned individual with access and existing relations to local end users and major international EPC contractors. Knowledge of mechancial and instrumentation products including piping systems, control and safety valves, actuators, and industrial process systems Familiarity with local stockiests, end user registration and business strategizing. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Proficiency English is mandatory.
