Applications are invited for a suitably qualified individual to take up the position of Engineering Services Support Technician. The main purpose of the job is to provide a technical support function to Operations at Nortech. This will encompass functions that ensure the smooth running of the production area by providing support when technical difficulties are encountered, alternate component sourcing, resolution to product reliability issues, etc. The job will also entail short-term developments to existing products in line with customer requirements and feature enhancements. The successful incumbent will be responsible for: Technical support. Production support. Product testing and evaluation. Technical documentation. Alternate component sourcing and evaluation. Requirements of the Candidate: Minimum of a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering L/C (or equivalent). 2 years (ideally) work experience. Good understanding of microcontroller-based digital systems. Good understanding of analogue components and circuits. Be a logical problem solver and be able to explain problems and solutions clearly. Have basic soldering skills. Ability to work under pressure. Be a self-motivated and self-disciplined worker. Advantageous for the Candidate: Exposure to C programming.
