PLC Automation Solutions Sales Person – Diverse Consulting Solutions (Pty) Ltd Location: Johannesburg, near Roodepoort Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Responsibilities Promote and sell CTI PLC products, modules, automation accessories, and related catalogue‑listed automation components. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of customers in manufacturing, mining, utilities, FMCG, packaging, and system integrators. Proactively identify new sales leads through cold calling, online research, plant visits, and industry networking. Manage incoming enquiries and provide accurate product recommendations from the CTI catalogue. Develop a working understanding of CTI PLC architecture, products, and compatibility, including migration solutions. Assist clients in selecting the correct PLC modules, I/O types, communication interfaces, and accessories. Offer customers product datasheets, brochures, pricing lists, and technical materials as needed. Build and maintain long‑term relationships with control engineers, instrumentation technicians, integrators, and maintenance managers. Conduct routine follow‑ups with existing customers to encourage repeat orders and catalogue‑based sales. Maintain CRM records, contacts, opportunities, and activities. Prepare quotations, sales proposals, and pricing according to company guidelines. Process orders with accuracy and completeness, track deliveries, coordinate with stores/logistics, and keep customers updated on order status. Provide monthly sales reports and pipeline updates to management. Monitor competitor PLC products, pricing, and catalogue offerings. Identify opportunities for product bundling, upgrades, and cross‑selling. Provide customer feedback to internal teams to improve competitiveness. Qualifications Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent. Valid driver’s licence and own transport. Relevant N2–N6 qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics or Instrumentation (advantage). 1–3 years sales experience, preferably technical, electrical or industrial B2B. Experience selling electrical spares, automation components, or industrial equipment. Familiarity with control panels, PLC modules, I/O cards, and automation software. Basic understanding of PLCs, control systems, instrumentation or electrical automation (training provided). Ability to read and interpret product catalogues, spec sheets and module configuration tables. Exposure to Siemens S7, Rockwell, Schneider or CTI products is advantageous. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple enquiries. Ability to understand customer needs and propose appropriate catalogue products. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets. Growth of customer portfolio and active accounts. Lead generation and new business acquisition. Accuracy and speed of quotation turnaround.Customer satisfaction and repeat sales. CRM data accuracy and reporting compliance. Salary & Benefits Monthly salary: R 25 000 – R 35 000 plus commission based on monthly/quarterly sales targets. Discretionary annual performance bonus. Pension scheme will be deducted from net salary (not negotiable). Company does not pay half of the pension. Salary package depends on skills, qualifications, and years of relevant experience.
