Job details Early childhood educator (ECE) Posted on December 08, 2025 by a licensed third‑party for The Whole Child Early Learning Centre Ltd Location: 2192 Maple Dr, Quesnel, BC V2J 5A1 Job type: Permanent, full time (30 hours per week) Schedule: Early morning, morning, day, evening Salary: $23.50 per hour Responsibilities Assess the children’s development to prepare a learning plan tailored to each child’s needs. Assist co‑workers in housekeeping and cooking duties. Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers. Develop and implement child‑care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Maintain daycare equipment. Storytelling and lead activities such as teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest. Synthesize overall situations of children and communicate information to parents. Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs and in keeping records. Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity. Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts. Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing and toilet habits. Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods. Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisors. Submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors. Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings. Apply knowledge of licensing regulations and establish guidelines for behaviour. Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co‑workers and community service providers. Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well‑being of children. Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants. Qualifications Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Experience: 2 to < 3 years in a child‑care setting. Languages: English. Work setting: Child care centre. Work conditions and physical capabilities Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail.
