Regional Sales Manager Vector Logistics – Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa Overview We are a supply chain and sales & merchandising partner adding value through a fully integrated, temperature‑controlled network in Southern Africa. Job Purpose Develop and execute the Vector Business and Principals execution requirements including sales goals, shelf health and people management within the region. Provide tactical and operational leadership and support to the regional sales team. Key Responsibilities Execute the National Sales strategy. Develop in‑store activations to drive sales. Manage and monitor strategic target achievement for the region. Attend national meetings as required. Drive implementation of the pricing strategy and practices. Develop key internal relationships in various functional areas and at various levels with Principals (NAMs); Operations Managers; Buyers and Franchisee Owners. Report on regional competitor activity and performance. Develop, implement and manage regional sales objectives. Analyze statistics regarding the number of sales made in a given time period. Drive achievement of applicable strategic and operational targets (cycle and monthly). Execute Principals sales team promotional activities across the region and report. Drive achievement of regional sales budgets in terms of volumes. Customer Relationship Management Maintain and expand the customer base by building strong relationships with key customers and recognising new opportunities. Understand key customers’ in‑store processes and ensure adherence to processes. Gather regional market intelligence on national accounts and key regional accounts. Manage and coordinate regional resources in line with customer plans. Ensure customer service excellence in line with Vector Leadership Standards. Resolve escalated customer queries within 24 hours. Conduct Principal Trade Visits as required. Financial Management Control regional sales OPEX budgets in terms of volumes. Drive achievement of both sales and returns targets. Regional Management & Human Resources Induct all new and existing employees and ensure timely onboarding. Maintain leave planners and manage casual labour within budget. Handle payroll sign‑off and manage allowances ensuring RMP compliance. Manage regional headcount in line with budget. Address IR matters and employee relations in line with legislation and company policy. Lead the regional team toward strategic objectives through regular communication. Conduct performance appraisals and coach team members. Deliver succession plans and support training and development. Develop high‑performance multi‑disciplinary teams. Lead weekly management meetings and share action plans. Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback. Asset Management Manage and maintain all assets as per employee, including phones, tablets, vehicles, uniforms and fuel cards. Ensure vehicle inspections are completed quarterly. Manage fleet including mileage, fuel cards, speeding and accident investigations. Handheld Technology (HHT) Monitor reports daily. Update collage to monthly ASM planner. Track monthly priorities weekly. Sign off store lists for priorities. Ensure promotional execution. Complete Shelf Health Scorecards (30 per ASM per month) and achieve SLA (90%). Maintain 80% collage strike rate. In‑Store And Trade Management RSM to spend one day per month in trade with each ASM. Ensure review meetings such as Buyer Quarterly and Regional Operations are actioned monthly. Returns Management Report YTD returns versus target. Ensure returns are completed weekly and cleared from backup. Report thermally abused stock to Call Centre as required. Call Cycles Sign off call cycles and validate. Log changes to call cycles and upload into system. Ensure all sales employees have a call cycle in HR SAP. Cover all stores A+, A, B, C, D unless strategically exempted. Key Relationships Internal: Customer Service Centre, Supply Chain, Customers, Operations team, NAMs, RSMs. External: Principals RSMs, Customers Buyers, Franchisee Owners. Qualifications and Experience Degree or Diploma in Management, Business Administration, or Marketing. Valid EB Code driver’s licence. 5 to 8 years’ experience in a customer and sales force operational role, coordinating sales teams and managing complex customer relationships. Skills and Competencies Business principles. Company economics (supply and demand). Sales principles and methodologies. Regional market and competitors knowledge. Planning and organization. Negotiation. Project management. Computer literacy (MS Office). Verbal and written communication. Report writing. Presentation skills. Interpersonal. Logical thinking. Innovative thinking.
