AltGen is looking for an experienced Senior Project Developer (7+ years) to join a leading IPP based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will lead utility‑scale renewable energy projects from PPA negotiations through to financial close, driving portfolio growth and supporting the company’s expansion in South Africa’s energy market. Responsibilities Full responsibility for key work streams from award through PPA negotiations and project finance phase, to financial close. Lead specific projects and the company’s project portfolio expansion, as well as manage the assigned development team members. Identification and screening of greenfield utility PV opportunities, and engagement with external service providers that may assist with this process. Engagement with landowners and other stakeholders to introduce the solar PV opportunity and the company; leading the negotiation of commercial terms and entering into land use agreements, including option agreements, long‑term leases and servitudes. Identification and screening of other projects in the marketplace with a view to acquisition, and engagement with other project developers and partners to enter into acquisition and/or partnership agreements. Responsibility for advancing the portfolio of projects from securement through to “bid ready” status, which may involve being the single point of responsibility for multiple projects. Lead or support business development in compilation of bids, including drafting responses, managing and coordinating external and internal resources, preparing supporting documents, and final bid compilation for private or government tenders. Support asset management, EPC and O&M teams on critical project development challenges during construction and operation of assigned projects. Successful financial closure of a minimum of one project per year. Requirements BSc degree in a relevant discipline (Renewable Energy, Engineering or possibly Environmental or Financing background). A minimum of 7 years’ experience in large‑scale electricity project development and management. Experience in previous government and/or private offtake projects and bidding in South Africa. Technical or financial background with a thorough understanding of numerical data and spreadsheets. Previous experience in securing greenfield projects and project acquisitions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
