The Clicks Group Services Legal Department is looking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of Legal Advisor I. This position will be based at our Head Office in Woodstock and will report to the Group Head of Legal. Job Objectives To provide end-to-end support in the day-to-day commercial operations and assist in the achievement of strategic business objectives and mitigate legal and regulatory risk by drafting and vetting contracts and other commercial documents. To serve as the legal partner to various Clicks departments by providing legal advice, drafting and negotiating complex trade and support agreements with various supplier counterparties in order to realise the best commercial outcome for Clicks whilst ensuring that its risk is mitigated and managed within accepted level. To assist the organisation in realising strategic business objectives and mitigating legal and competition law and other regulatory risks by negotiating with counterparties on contracts and other commercial documents to achieve favourable outcomes. Providing input on legal strategies to internal stakeholders for significant matters impacting the organisation. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to obtain relevant information to determine how a legal or operational matter is handled. Supporting the use and management of the group’s contract drafting and contract management system. Developing efficiencies and processes within the Legal Department (including supporting the rollout and continued management of the contract management system and preparing standard operating procedures) and broadly within the organisation (by identifying work methods to facilitate the efficient and effective conclusion of agreements, negotiations and resolution of disputes with counterparties). Providing and facilitating training; and Providing trade and non-trade dispute resolution support. Qualifications and Experience Relevant Legal degree (Essential) Admitted attorney/advocate at the Bar (Essential) Relevant post-graduate qualification in law or business (Desirable) 3-5 years post-admission experience working in a law firm, at the Bar or at a top tier corporate (Essential) 6 – 8 years post-admission experience working at a top tier law firm, the Bar, or at a top tier, listed or multinational corporate (Desirable) Skills, Abilities and Job-Related Knowledge Legal drafting (advanced) Detail-orientated whilst remaining practical (advanced) Application of SA law (advanced) Drafting and comprehension skills (advanced) Ability to work independently and within a team (advanced) General understanding of South African law and how laws are made and enforced Contract law Company law Medicines and Related Substances Act Pharmacy Act Property law Delivering results and meeting customer expectations Analysing Applying Expertise and Technology Entrepreneurial and Commercial Thinking Working with People Learning and Researching Persuading and Influencing Coping with Pressures and Setbacks #J-18808-Ljbffr
