Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines that align with the organisation’s objectives, values, and legal requirements.

Conduct legal research on various topics related to the organisation operations, such as international laws, regulations, and policies, and provide legal analysis and recommendations to the organisation.

Advise internal stakeholders, such as senior management, business units, and employees, on legal matters related to the organisation’s operations, including but not limited to contracts, intellectual property, employment law, data protection, and international regulatory compliance.

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents that align with the organisation's policies and legal requirements.

Represent the organisation in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations, and work with external counsel, as necessary.

Develop and deliver legal training programs to educate internal stakeholders on legal matters that affect the organisation.

Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, industry associations, and legal professionals, to stay informed on legal developments that may affect the organisation’s operations.

Stay up-to-date with the latest legal developments, trends, and best practices, and communicate any relevant information to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Relevant Law Degree from a recognised Tertiary institution

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with a focus on policies, regulations, research, and related areas.

Knowledge of relevant international laws, regulations, and policies related to the organization’s operations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical and effective legal advice.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and proactive approach.

Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.

The Legal Advisor may be required to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate business needs.

Travel may be required from time to time, to attend meetings, conferences, or other events.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: From R38,000.00 per month
