Transportation Operations Manager

To formulate a tactical transport operations strategy and associated practice delivery plan and influence operational implementation, contributing to client's satisfaction, reduced risk and improved profitability. Key Accountabilities Implement corporate governance and compliance policies in order to manage risk liabilities. Analyse, interpret and produce detailed reports explaining trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies measured against planned activities. Develop and ensure implementation of people capacity plans in line with performance objectives. Develop initiatives to enhance customer service excellence. Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment. Create an engaging, enabling and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition by demonstrating leadership through personal commitment to organisational values. Develop a plan for practice changes and specify the priorities of delivery plans and resources needed 1 to 2 years. Contribute to the setting of budgets, minimise expenditure and manage costs and assets effectively. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders that contributes to a culture of customer service excellence. Qualifications Tertiary Qualification in Transport/Logistics Management. Skills and Experience Up to 8 years of experience in a similar environment with at least 5 years operational leadership or specialist experience in a road freight company. Proficient business communication knowledge and / or skill. Proficient legislation and regulations knowledge and / or skill. Proficient labour relations procedures knowledge and / or skill. Seasoned budgeting and cost management knowledge and / or skill. Seasoned business and operations management knowledge and / or skill. Seasoned people management and development knowledge and / or skill. Seasoned transport operations management knowledge and / or skill.
