Senior Actuarial Analyst – AIG The following outlines the core responsibilities and qualifications for the position. Responsibilities Support the calculation of US GAAP and IFRS reserves for the AIG entities in Africa Work closely with both the HAFs for AIG Life South Africa and AIG South Africa entities to ensure that all regulatory and actuarial requirements are met Perform analytical work including data extraction, data transformation and database management Deliver annual and quarterly actuarial reserving studies Support the budgeting process and business partnering by providing ultimate loss ratios by accident year from the reserve study to the business Facilitate the bridging initiative between Finance and Pricing Actuarial teams to align on ultimate losses across functions Develop processes, procedures and metrics to enable the businesses to comply with Pillar II of SAM Calculate the SAM Technical Provisions Assist in model validation of the Standard Model for SCR and MCR calculations and provide technical support for the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment Develop procedures to produce, document and report opinions on the adequacy of reinsurance arrangements and align/implement a reinsurance strategy in line with SAM requirements Generate reports to monitor and communicate business performance Assist in the redevelopment and testing of IT systems Deliver the required outputs for the annual year‑end audit Support any project or ad‑hoc requirements as needed Qualifications Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related area required Minimum of 5–8 years general insurance experience (only candidates meeting this will be considered) Member of an actuarial institution making good progress through exams Proven proficiency in actuarial concepts and methodologies Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication skills Good technical software knowledge such as SQL and/or Python Team player with ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams Ability to navigate through complexity Critical thinking and execution skills Equal Opportunity Employer It has been and will continue to be the policy of American International Group, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
