A payments company based in Stellenbosch have grown by implementing new ideas and equipment in the payment processing industry to enrich payment solutions with automation and great tech.

The company has a flat structure, and they offer a broad span of control for their team members with clear recognition and full accountability for contributions. Their business interests span from ecommerce through to new generation android point of sale solutions. The team is looking for for someone that will own the position with a purpose to create a positive legacy.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Full Stack Developer with strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel, coupled with a deep understanding of JavaScript and Vue.js. (Essential) The ideal candidate will have solid front-end work experience and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions. The primary characteristics of the incumbent are:

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using PHP, Laravel and VUE.js
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Implementing responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (Vue.js).
  • Writing clean, efficient, scalable, secure and well-documented code.
  • Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Staying updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve development processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant.
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with expertise in PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, and Vue.js, with 5 years of working experience.
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
  • Experience with relational database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and non-relational databases is a plus (MongoDB or DynamoDB.)
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills Set:

  • Experience with other front-end frameworks/libraries such as React.js or AngularJS.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile.
