As a Store Foreman in the industrial or manufacturing sector, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the storeroom. This includes issuing and receiving stock, ordering new stock, and managing inventory levels to ensure the smooth operation of the production process. You will work closely with various departments, ensuring that materials and supplies are available as needed and maintaining accurate records through an ERP system.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in stock management within the industrial or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems and good computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with various departments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems for inventory management.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Additional certification or training in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Stock Management:

  • Oversee the issuing and receiving of all stock items.
  • Ensure that all stock is properly labelled and stored.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and audits to maintain accuracy.
  • Monitor stock levels and process purchase requests as needed.
  • Verify the accuracy and quality of incoming shipments.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of stock transactions using an ERP system.
  • Ensure that manual transactions are timeously captured on the ERP system.
  • Providing verifications of accuracy and completeness of stock transactions on the ERP system.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Work closely with various departments to understand their stock requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Address any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Implement and maintain efficient stock management procedures.
  • Ensure that the storeroom is organised, clean, and safe.

Supervision:

  • Supervise and train storeroom staff.
  • Delegate tasks and monitor performance.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
