About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and organized Recreation Program Supervisor to manage and enhance their diverse range of community recreation programs in Port Elizabeth . This role is crucial for planning, implementing, and overseeing various leisure activities, sports leagues, and community events designed to promote healthy lifestyles and community engagement. You will lead a team of program coordinators and volunteers, ensuring high-quality delivery and participant satisfaction within the Leisure & Sports domain. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of all community recreation programs .
  • Manage program staff and volunteers, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Develop program schedules, budgets, and promotional materials to maximize participation and resource utilization.
  • Ensure the safety and quality of all program activities, adhering to Leisure & Sports best practices and relevant regulations.
  • Engage with community members to identify needs and preferences for new recreational offerings.
  • Oversee program registration, facility booking, and equipment management processes.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in recreation program supervision or management, preferably in the Leisure & Sports sector.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective community engagement.
  • Certification or degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or a related field is a plus.
