Senior Warehouse

Job Function To provide leadership, oversight and control of operations (warehouse and transport) within an operating company. Develop and optimize business practices required to ensure effective and efficient control of the operation. Accountable for continuous improvement of operational efficiency by closely controlling costs and aligning capacity and capability with the business strategic objectives. Reduce risk within the operation, ensure compliance and client satisfaction while regulatory requirements are met. Provide financial control, procurement management, health and safety oversight, management of assets and consumables, facility maintenance and upgrades, industrial relations and people management, operational risk identification and management thereof. Key Performance Areas Manage, Monitor, Improve, and review warehouse efficiencies to ensure operations continually performs at optimum level. Constantly develop standards and improvement plans in line with customers’ needs and organizational value. Monitor all operations and information systems to ensure compliance against customer defined SLAs, KPI’S and internal processes and act in accordance. Manage operational risk and risk mitigation initiatives. Monitor and report on progress against operational plans and adjust where required. Formulate a plan which includes milestones and priorities to deliver on operational objectives. Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment. Create an engaging, enabling and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition by demonstrating leadership through personal commitment to organisational values. Manage, monitor and report on budget variances in order to maximize financial performance. Plan, manage and monitor initiatives to ensure customer service excellence. Total compliance to Quality Assurance and Regulatory requirements. Develop operations capability to support business growth through building people capabilities, leveraging technology capabilities, aligning physical infrastructure (space, technology hardware and equipment) with growth plans, and demand. Ensure fulfilment operations are cost effective, efficient, meet customer expectations and service level commitments. Plan resources (people, space, equipment and technology hardware) with forecasted demand for peak periods. Manage procurement, price negotiations, approve suppliers and build relationships with key suppliers. Maintain a safe and secure work environment for employees in terms of the OHS Act requirements. Develop and maintain business continuity plans to enable the business to recover from unforeseen events. Provide technical support to business development for enterprise customers through building fulfilment solutions, costing models and contract negotiation. Project manage the fulfilment solutions for enterprise customers including building new processes, managing the technology integration, and building out last mile capability through developing partnerships Qualifications Required Degree (NQF Level 7) in Logistics and Operations management or equivalent. Experience and Skills Required Up to 8 years of experience in a similar environment with at least 5 years operational leadership or specialist experience. Proficient financial accounting knowledge and / or skill. Proficient budgeting and cost management knowledge and / or skill.
