We are seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented Accountant to join our finance team on a 4–5‑month temporary contract. This role is ideal for candidates with 3‑6 years of accounting experience who are eager to make an immediate impact in a fast‑paced environment. Can you support daily financial operations, assist with reporting, and collaborate across departments? If so, you will be a strong fit for this role. Must be available to start immediately. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, general ledger accounts, and reconciliations Prepare and manage accounting journals and schedules, including: Fixed asset register journals (e.g., goodwill amortization) Lease journals Prepaid expenses Accrued expenses Perform ad hoc accounting tasks as required Assist in the preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) Support month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely, accurate reporting Conduct variance and trend analyses to identify discrepancies and recommend improvements Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by compiling and analyzing financial data Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Provide documentation and explanations for internal and external audit requests Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve accounting issues and deliver financial insights Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3‑6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in financial reporting or general ledger functions Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis) Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial data management Strong organizational abilities with proven capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams COMPENSATION DETAILS At MCI, we believe that your hard work deserves recognition and reward.
