Organic Export Officer (Junior position) Ecocert South Africa was established in 2002 and manages the ECOCERT client base in 16 countries across Southern- and East Africa. Our offices are situated in Paardevlei, Somerset West with 36 young and energetic permanent- and 33 freelance employees. Our services are currently focused on sustainable certification, including organic, fair trade and Rainforest Alliance. Somerset West, South Africa Customer relations Permanent Organic agriculture Job description We are hiring an Export Officer that will be based in our Somerset West office. You will report directly to the Export Manager. The Export Officer plays a pivotal role to ensure the traceability and documentary compliance check for each organic consignment being sold or exported, in particular to the EU and USA. Your tasks Checking the completeness and eligibility of Transaction Certificate (TC) and Certificate of Inspection (COI) applications received from clients Cross-checking documents to validate traceability and accuracy Assessing the compliance based on scheme (EU and NOP) requirements Issue and send the approved TC/COI to the clients within a strict 3-day deadline Update internal records on all platforms Working proactively, along with other departments, ensuring clients and internal staff understand the process by means of guidelines and training. Profile Tertiary degree or diploma in Logistics, Education, or other relevant field Relevant job experience will be advantageous but is not a requirement High level of computer literacy – Confident MS Office user Excellent English and Afrikaans spoken and written competency with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Performs well under high-pressure situationsAttention to detail and deadline-orientatedGood communication skills What’s in it for you? Remuneration : Market-related salary and dependent on experience and qualifications Type of contract : Permanent (6-month probation) But also : 60% medical aid contribution (after probation), life- and disability insurance (after 12 months). When working more than 6 months you will become eligible for a performance bonus based on the level of achievement of your annual objectives.
