The Role We are seeking a detail‑oriented and senior level Senior Engineer (Bulk Water / Water and Wastewater) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical project planning, management, and oversight for key initiatives and implementation of projects, ensuring that these projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget while applying all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) that enables the business to retain its ISO 9001 accreditation. The incumbent will liaise with clients, contractors, and all other project stakeholders. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation related to projects is prepared in accordance with necessary safety laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities Lead and Manage infrastructure projects. Responsible for a project in all respects, budgeting, resource allocation, procedures, profitability, quality, and standards. Communicate project goals and deliverables; assess and evaluate project team work to ensure successful completion of projects. Technical and Design Lead on projects. Regular client contact. Tendering & Proposal writing and support. Undertake client liaison and communication with all stakeholders of the individual projects. Preparation of project plans, conducting project health checks and overseeing the implementation of recovery plans where necessary. Technical coordination within the business and with external team members and/or stakeholders. Provide technical advice to field staff in order to ensure that construction procedures are being carried out properly. Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, according to specifications and regulations on time and within budget. Evaluate customer or public complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures. Generate relevant reports for projects as required by the business. Conduct & attend meetings with clients, professional teams, and contractors. Qualifications and Experience Degree in Civil Engineering: BSc, B Eng, or B-Tech. 10+ years’ post first qualification experience in the built‑environment and at least 5 of these years in a technical/design lead role. Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer / Technologist. Proven track record as technical/design Lead on multi‑disciplinary bulk water/wastewater infrastructure projects. Knowledge of QA and OHS requirements. Project Management experience to manage medium to large infrastructure projects related to water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Experience in contract administration & management of multi‑disciplinary building & infrastructure projects. Experience managing and leading a team of Engineers and Technicians.
