The Role As a Senior Tax Consultant , you’ll be a key part of our Somerset West team, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients while taking ownership of a wide range of tax matters. This is an independent role, giving you the opportunity to manage your own workload, deepen your technical expertise, and become a trusted adviser to the individuals and businesses you work with. Key Responsibilities: Managing all aspects of tax compliance, including income tax (Individuals, Corporates, Trusts, PBO’s), VAT, Payroll taxes, withholding taxes and IT3 reporting Preparing and submitting tax registrations, E-Filing, and maintaining up-to-date client records Review and approve corporate and trust tax computations for quality and compliance Providing clear, timely communication and advice to clients on tax matters Supporting work on estates and trusts, with exposure to inheritance and estate tax where applicable Managing customs registrations for clients involved in import and export activities Using GreatSoft or similar systems for maintaining the client database, tax administration and timekeeping Provide technical support to the payroll and accounting departments SARS audits, queries, objections and appeals submission Maintain strong, proactive communication with clients on all tax matters. About You Skills & Experience: B.Com or equivalent Must be a registered tax practitioner in South Africa Proven experience in tax compliance and administration Proven experience within Estates, pre death, post death and estate duty Experience using GreatSoft or similar tax systems for tax administration Confident in managing VAT, dividend tax, E-Filing, and related administrative processes Strong communication skills with a professional, client-centred approach Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities whilst adhering to deadlines Belong @ Sumer At Sumer, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment, not just as buzzwords, but as the heartbeat of our team.
