DescriptionKey Responsibility Areas Lead, develop, implement, maintain and improve group safety strategy, policies and proceduresImplementation and monitoring of health and safety policies and proceduresBe involved in the operational implementation, guidance and training of all health and safety aspects on siteFacilitate and conduct risk assessments (HIRA)Facilitate site inductions for employees, contractors, and relevant stakeholders (OHS training in the Distribution Centre)Ensure that the site meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to Occupational Health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reportingCompile daily, weekly, monthly and event-based reports for risk and safety management reportsEnsures machinery safety in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teamsReviewing & updating TFG OHS files and Distribution centre boardsSupport and develop and delivery of health and safety training programs for employeesLead and participate in incident investigations and assist in the preparation of reports.Ensure section 24 incidents are reported to the provincial director as per GAR 6Ensure timeous reports of reportable and disabling injuries to the groupRainin's NCR's and updating group registerEnsure maintenance of accurate records of safety inspections, incidents and trainingCollaboration with various departments to promote a culture of health and safety awarenessAssist in the preparation of safety communications and materials aligned with the group safety communication policyStop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthyEnsure that contracts doing any work on site meet all legal requirements in accordance with TFG contractor management standards, policies and procedures.Ensure implementation of the TFG RRI (Risk Reduction Strategy) and temousely report to the group.Draw up site safety objectives, programmes and the monitoring thereof aligned with ISO guidelinesConduct applicable inspectionsAssist the Site Risk Manager in all site security related dutiesEnsuring that site safety teams and legal appointments are current and continuously updatedIn collaboration with site management, facilitate medical evaluationsRisk assessment and controlPolicy and procedure developmentIncident managementTraining and awarensessMonitoring & reportingEmergency preparednessCompliance & LiaisonExperience and Qualifications : National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or equivalent preferredSAMTRAC (Minimum requirement based on experience)Minimum 3-5 years proven experience in Health & Safety withing Logistics, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Engineering, Chemicals and / or construction environmentsExpereince in reporting Emergency response planningProven experience is using electronic platforms (ISOMetrics, Gensuite etc) AdvantageousTechnical qualification and / or experience in any of the following fields : CCTV, intrusion & Fire Alarm access control systems AdvantageousRegistration with SAIOSH or similarSkills : Strong knowledge of safety legislation and manufacturing safety standardsExcellent observations and analytical skillsEffective communication and report writing skillsProblem-solving and root cause analysisAbility to train and influence employees at all levelsComputer literacy (MS Office, safety management software)Strong administrative skills Preference will be given to employees from designated groups in line with the provisions of the Employment Equity Act, No 55 of and any amendments hereto. #J-18808-Ljbffr
