Job Purpose We currently have Carer positions available at one of our Units based in Pinelands. The purpose is to look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the elderly using a person centered approach; To observe and promote the elderly's choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights; To create and maintain good professional relationships; To actively support other care workers; To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations, policies, procedures and guidelines; To promote a positive, personal and professional profile at all times. Job Requirements Grade 12 (Must); All Carers must have completed a Health and Welfare SETA accredited course; Preferably all candidates should be able to speak, write and read English and Afrikaans; Minimum 2 years experience required; Available immediately. Job Responsibilities Care provision; Maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with the elderly; Maintain detailed accurate records in respect of care and medication support given and tasks undertaken; Regularly read care and support plans, acknowledging changes; Protect confidentiality of all information relating to the Client and not divulge information to anyone not authorized; Promptly report on any issues concerning the care, support, well-being or behavior of the elderly and update records accordingly; Continue to monitor where concerns have been reported and recorded; Recognise signs of abuse and immediately report abuse or suspected abuse to a Manager; Report any complaints to relevant Manager; Dress appropriately, wearing uniform and using personal protective equipment; Seek out best practice and look at innovative ways to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery; Any other duties requested by Senior Management, which are within the scope of the post.
