- Provide technical expertise to the team.
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment failure and apply reliability centred maintenance (RCM) techniques to resolve problems. ·
- Ensure full preventative maintenance is carried, plan in missed activities and lead the team to deliver effectively as per CMMS.
- Manage machine availability, reactively managing dysfunctional machinery with production management.
- Schedule both internal and external work(s) minimising planned down time and reducing unplanned down time.
- Schedule tanks and terminal equipment for statutory inspections, communicate maintenance plans with internal stakeholders and ensure that maintenance is conducted within schedule.
- Support branch and company maintenance and operating strategies. · Manage and control overtime.
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
- Ensure lockout procedure is followed and equipment is isolated before handing over to maintenance.
- Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet company and legal requirements.
- Ensure that housekeeping is practiced at all sections of the factory.
- Ensure team compliance to all companys established procedures and HSE regulations.
- Produce written reports and make presentations.
- Leadership: must display strong leadership skills, and an ability to effectively manage, lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team.
- Strategy: think strategically, be open to new ideas, manage innovation.
- Financial management: Ability to set maintenance budgets, and control.
- Excellent maintenance management initiatives, e.g., Reliability Centred Maintenance, Assets Care and Condition Monitoring, etc. · Results driven - proven ability to achieve targets within required timeframes and minimize downtime.
- Decision-making skills: must have superior decision-making skills based on sound principles and 1st principles thinking.
- Delegation: Must have the ability to delegate and monitor outcomes effectively.
- Communication: Influencing skills with the ability to resolve issues, build consensus and have proven skill in negotiating and mediating conflict.
