Finance Manager

Job Function The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the finances and monitoring the financial performance of a business unit. Analyse daily financial activities, providing advice & guidance to management. Key Performance Areas Overseeing and completing the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Overseeing and completing of month ends. Managing the business unit accountants. Assist management to institute and maintain proper financial controls in the business. Check and/or complete various statutory and tax returns, e.g. VAT Monitor the implementation of financial procedures to ensure disciplines are adhered to. Perform the necessary authorisations required to ensure sound financial controls in all financial functions. Check and sign off general ledgers, reconciliations and accounts. Liaise with auditors to ensure annual audit is successfully completed. Completing tax packs for the business unit. Flash reporting during the month. Provide financial advice and support to managers. Assist with Customer costings and Customer queries. Research and report on factors influencing business performance. Assist with CAPEX motivations and approvals. Qualifications Required Bachelor's or equivalent 3-year degree (NQF Level 7). CA would be advantageous. Experience and Skills Required 5 - 10 years post articles experience. Knowledge and experience in Freight Forwarding would be an added advantage for this role.
