Job Summary The Senior Manager–ECF Compliance Advisory is responsible for establishing and managing the compliance framework and embedding the compliance methodology requirements in line with the Compliance Manual across the specified portfolio. Key Responsibilities Facilitate a Pan‑African lens across Absa’s operations specific to the specified portfolio. Provide strategic oversight of compliance risk and support audit and regulatory engagements. Drive a culture of ethical and compliant business practices. Develop, implement and oversee regulatory compliance strategies of the Bank. Assist in establishing an effective compliance function, framework and core processes. Provide an innovative and competitive approach to compliance risk management. Proactively identify, assess, report and support mitigating compliance risks. Enforce and uphold the Bank’s compliance standards and participate in activities that drive a strong culture of compliance and internal control. Responsibilities Develop compliance procedures and policies for the specified portfolio. Produce compliance guidelines and support training initiatives. Write and consolidate reports for key internal Bank committees and Board committees. Develop key compliance policies and SOPs aligned to operational aspects of the portfolio. Ensure policies and procedures are approved by relevant Board committees. Ensure compliance with industry regulatory standards. Implement core compliance principles, frameworks, processes, systems and platforms. Implement the compliance risk management framework, review regulatory universe, identify key legislation, and facilitate implementation of the compliance risk management plans and control gap analysis. Advisory on establishing effective compliance frameworks, structures and core processes. Assist with regulator and audit reviews and oversee compliance actions. Assist with regulatory change and commentary processes. Compile and assist with compliance reports for management and relevant Bank committees. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB), Admitted Attorney, Risk Management, or a related discipline and/or a compliance qualification together with a Postgraduate qualification. Understanding of core principles of an effective compliance function. Compliance certifications such as CISA, ISO 27001, CPrac. Required Experience Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in compliance or a risk‑related discipline. Demonstrated experience within banking compliance. Strong understanding of the legislative landscape for banking. Proven ability to manage complex compliance related audits, regulatory reviews, and cross‑functional compliance initiatives. Detailed experience in the Legal and/or compliance environment within banking. Understanding and ability to implement compliance methodology. Education Bachelor’s degree and advanced diplomas in Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required). Absa Bank Limited is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
