Choose how often (in days) you want to receive a notification: Wits Donald Gordon Med Centre| Parktown, Johannesburg | South Africa Closing date: 11/12/2025Number of positions: 1Recruiter name: Masego Patricia KataneReference number: 65597Workplace Type:On-sitePermanent Please note if you are an internal employee on a fixed term contract please apply using an external candidate profile and not your employee profile MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To ensure an efficient and professional pharmaceutical service is provided to the hospital and public KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Lead and manage the people in the department Manage pharmaceutical stock (own, loan and consignment) Manage and mitigate departmental risks Manage and control departmental budgets / finances Deliver a safe and efficient pharmaceutical service Provide an out-patient pharmacy service REQUIRED EDUCATION ESSENTIAL EDUCATION Masters/B Pharm / BSc Pharm REQUIRED EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE 5-7 years working as a pharmacist in a community or institutional/ hospital pharmacy 3-5 years supervisory or managerial experience in an institutional/hospital pharmacy REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Risk management processes and procedures Pharmacy and related healthcare industry Ethical and surgical product knowledge Relevant Pharmacy legislation (e.g. Pharmacy Act; Good pharmacy practice; Medicine Control Act 101 of 1965) Medical Aid Scheme benefits; regulations and formularies Clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship All applicants will be considered, the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
