Position Purpose Human Capital Administrative Officer : HC Operations & Transactional Shared Services | Culture Coach Position Purpose To enable the infrastructure team in Afrocentric Technologies teams to resolve all calls / requests / Incidents on a day-to-day basis. Responsibilities Deal effectively with vendors, third party vendors as well as service providers. Create standard procedures to enhance scalability and performance of existing infrastructure architecture. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues in accurate and timely manner. Maintain disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous availability and speedy recovery. Plan installation, migration, and upgrade of infrastructure. Ensure that database is developed according to business requirements. Prepare reports on infrastructure scalability and capacity planning as needed. Identify and resolve database issues related to performance and capacity. Oversee day-to-day activities of infrastructure team. Accountabilities Allocate resources effectively in order to improve team effectiveness. Ensure the system is documented and all documents are updated on the agreed document library. Apply active governance around quality, rules, standards, and processes within the team. Implement practical solutions that use the specialist and departmental systems and processes. Provide specialist input and recommendations to improve the efficiency, compliance and quality objectives related to the area of specialisation. Identify problems and develop and propose solutions to present to appropriate leader or stakeholders. Ensure day-to-day operational support required from area of specialisation is provided to enhance performance. Cost Containment Support the identification, development and implementation of cost-effective processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost drivers related to area of specialisation. Continuously review cost / benefit and return on investment within area of specialisation. Identify delivery constraints, notify immediately and escalat where required. Maintain a high level of impact on other departments to support improved delivery. Continually increase understanding of client and stakeholder needs, satisfaction and service delivery. Knowledge Management Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team. Organise product and internal training and facilitate cross-skilling. Ensure that adequate knowledge regarding specialisation is shared as required and maintained within the research library. Provide advice and / or training as required. Maintain, develop and implement specialist knowledge within the day-to-day operations of the organisation. Be a member of related professional bodies. Ensure CPD (continual professional development) or similar accreditation requirements are met annually to ensure maintained specialist accreditation. Network Key Relationships Engage with and provide support to the established network of internal and external expert resources and partners. Specialist Support to Projects Guide the effort towards successful projects and system maintenance. Provide specialist expertise and ensure best practice related to specialisation is implemented in projects, when required. Conform to project management disciplines when participating in projects. Represent department or project on appropriate committees related to area of specialisation. Generic Objectives Allocate resources effectively in order to improve team effectiveness. Position Specific Outputs To manage the process of calls being logged and queries resolved to ensure overall client satisfaction while managing the third-party vendors. Contribute towards the annual budget by providing relevant and timely information regarding hardware and software requirements. To effectively manage the third-party vendors and the schedulers, in order to maximise capacity and ensure excellent service delivery. To manage third-party vendors through effective relationship management to ensure that service provided to the business is delivered in accordance with the set SLA; escalating any issues within a timely manner. To liaise and manage the expectations of internal engineers to meet customer demands on an ongoing basis. Engage with third-party / vendors / business regarding solution designs and implementations. Testing inputs to solution designs. Qualification and Experience 7 years Infrastructure / data centre / hosting and storage management experience. 5 years VMware experience. 5 years backup and recovery experience. 5 years third-party / vendor management experience. 3 years people management experience. Information technology related degree and certification on relevant information technology systems.
