About the Role The Intermediate SecOps Engineer will be responsible for collaborating with clients and internal teams to gather requirements, define project scopes, and help develop architectural designs for AWS deployments. Implementing security measures and best practices to protect AWS environments, including identity and access management, data encryption, and compliance. Mentoring and providing guidance to junior team members, assisting in their professional growth and skill development. Ticket Triage Attend Customer Transition Meetings SIEM management and platform development Updating/Deploying remote security monitoring code for systems according to security principles. Configure a wide range of security tools across multiple environments Updating security processes and knowledge base documentation Customer Service Requests Internal Service Requests Reviewing Compliance Reports Threat Hunting Create training documentation and train colleagues where required. Product Development Qualifications BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering or related diplomas or certification. AWS Certification (eg: AWS Security Specialty, AWS Solution Architect Associate) - ESSENTIAL Required Skills In-depth knowledge of core AWS services and concepts, including: IAM SSM S3 - Lifecycle management, access policies, replication, logging CloudWatch Logging CloudWatch Metrics CloudTrail DNS – setup and troubleshooting of DNS and routing of traffic Networking, including VPC Flow Logs KMS GuardDuty Security Hub Config High-level understanding of how EKS works Knowledge of Control Tower, SCP, Guardrails, SSO Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform. Basic knowledge of management tools such as AWS CLI. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Troubleshooting issues and providing support for AWS managed services Third-party security services, eg, Cloudflare. Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and routing. Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python or Bash. Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse logs and identify issues. Good problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn new technologies. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team. Basic understanding of managing infrastructure using IaC, such as Terraform.
