Main Purpose of the Job Eagles Pride Hatchery, the largest independent supplier of day old chicks to the commercial market, has a vacancy for a Technical Advisor in Pretoria. The Technical Advisor will be responsible for technical assistance focusing on day old placements and problem farms. Assistance will be provided to contract growers with technical advice and guidance and assisting the consulting veterinarians. Qualifications Grade 12 with at least 3 years relevant broiler breeder experience. A relevant agricultural degree or diploma will be a definite advantage. The candidate must have very good people skills and be an outstanding communicator on all levels. Marketing experience with the main focus on customer service is a must. Honesty, integrity and the ability to earn trust amongst customers are some of the characteristics required for this position. Due to operational requirements, the Technical Advisor has to travel extensively and be able to work long hours. The candidate must be vibrant and confident and be able to operate without supervision. Good negotiating and persuasion skills. Key Responsibility Areas Attend the placement of day-old chicks to customers. Provide support, guidance and assistance. Conduct inspections of chick housing conditions. Conduct post-mortems as prescribed. Identify common poultry diseases. Interact with clients and prospective clients to build effective relationships and loyalty. Build collaborative and cooperative relationships. Actively seek new clients and customers. Assist with small scale credit applications. Understand customer's circumstances, problems, expectations and needs. Provide service excellence. Assist with the customer feedback system. Assist with the development of interventions or measures to address quality issues. Prepare, present and analyse production related information. Stay abreast of current developments and trends in the poultry industry. The list of responsibilities is not intended to be exhaustive.
