We blend design excellence with cutting‑edge technology to deliver exceptional client value. Position Overview Woolpert is hiring a Site Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. This position reports to the Site Civil Engineering Team Leader. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Design and create site layout plans in alignment with client requirements and Woolpert standards. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs. Work with project management teams to identify impediments, develop and implement solutions to overcome obstacles. Perform site due diligence assessments and compile data and reports. Perform occasional field work and frequent local travel, and overnight travel, as needed. Manage multiple infrastructure projects, prepare design documentation and reports, and ensure compliance with ECSA Code of Conduct and project delivery timelines. Demonstrate expertise in stormwater drainage design, runoff calculations, and compliance with local bylaws (e.g., SANS, municipal stormwater standards). Knowledge of hydraulic and hydrological modelling using tools such as HEC‑RAS, EPANET, SWMM, or Civil 3D hydrology modules is highly advantageous. Qualifications BEng / BSc (Eng) in Civil Engineering from a recognized South African university. Minimum 5 years of post‑graduate experience in civil engineering, ideally in infrastructure, hydrology, stormwater management, or structural design. Pr.Eng registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is required. Alternatively, Candidate Engineer (ECSA Candidate Reg. No.) may be accepted for developing engineers.
