Position Overview Woolpert is hiring a Site Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. This position reports to the Site Civil Engineering Team Leader. Essential Functions Design and create site layout plans in alignment with client requirements and Woolpert standards. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs. Work with project management teams toidentifyimpediments and develop/implement solutions to overcome obstacles. Performsite due diligenceassessments and compile data and reports. Perform occasional field work and frequent local travel, and overnight travel, as needed. BEng / BSc (Eng) in Civil Engineering from a recognized South African university. Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering, ideally in infrastructure, hydrology, stormwater management, or structural design. Pr.Eng registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) is required. Alternatively, Candidate Engineer (ECSA Candidate Reg. No.) may be accepted for developing engineers. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D or AutoCAD Civil 3D is also required locally used for civil design, roads, drainage, and stormwater systems. Ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects, prepare design documentation and reports, and ensure compliance with ECSA Code of Conduct and project delivery timelines. Demonstrated expertise in stormwater drainage design, runoff calculations, and compliance with local bylaws (e.g., SANS 1200, SANS 10400, and municipal stormwater standards). Knowledge of hydraulic and hydrological modelling using tools such as HEC-RAS, EPANET, SWMM, or Civil 3D hydrology modules is highly advantageous.
