Overview Job Title: Section Engineer – Mining Location: Northern Cape, South Africa Job Type: Full-time Job Summary: Hire Resolve’s Client are seeking a skilled and experienced Section Engineer to join our mining operations in the Northern Cape region. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the mining operation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Oversee the planning and scheduling of mining operations to ensure optimal utilization of resources. Provide technical support and guidance to the production team to ensure safe and efficient mining practices. Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address any potential safety hazards or operational issues. Develop and implement maintenance programs for mining equipment to minimize downtime and maximize production output. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including mine management, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity. Mentor and coach junior engineers and provide training as needed. Prepare and review engineering reports, project plans, and budget forecasts. Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences. Stay current on industry trends and best practices to contribute to the ongoing success of the operation. Qualifications and Experience National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering GCC Mines and Works Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the mining industry. Strong knowledge of mining operations, processes, and equipment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Proficiency in relevant software applications and mining software. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
