Role Summary Senior Fund Accountant - SA (CIS) Fund Accounting to manage and perform fund valuations within the Institutional Funds space. The Senior Fund Accountant will administer the funds efficiently, accurately and within daily deadlines, as well as set up and ensure checklists and standards are adhered to. Key Responsibilities The main responsibilities of the role will be to: Update the Apex systems with all the daily prices and verify these prices. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior fund accountants, and review all fund valuations prepared by them to ensure accurate calculation of fund valuations. Generate and distribute daily valuation files. Take responsibility for income distribution and TER calculations and provide them to clients in a timely manner. Review processes for continuous improvement and automation opportunities, and present recommendations to management. Maintain and continuously update the process of documentation. Communicate and respond to queries internally and from clients; assist team leaders and managers in resolving such queries. Deal with client queries and audit queries. Communicate and answer any queries on the funds from the team. Perform valuation quality assurance reviews and ensure consistent output quality. Manage and oversee the production schedule and client deliveries in the team leader's absence. Assist with implementation of projects, checks and controls to mitigate risk. Coordinate the induction program for new joiners. Key Requirements The successful candidate will have: Minimum 1–2 years' experience as a fund accountant. BCom or similar in accounting, economics or investments. Experience in Asset Management portfolio administration and pricing. Experience with investment products (including Unit Trusts, Multi-Manager, Segregated Portfolios, ETFs, Pooled products) locally or internationally is an advantage. IT and systems skills and knowledge. Good working knowledge of systems or aptitude for working with systems, specifically Invest One. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and IT packages (particularly Excel).
